Bryan:  Honey, do you think you could take the zipper out of the bottom of these track pants, but still leave the zipper functional?

Me:  Why, what's wrong with them?

Bryan:  I keep stepping on them and it's annoying.

You're funny, but he's just confusing. He wants the zipper out but still wants it to zip? What, is he on crack?

I'm guessing he wants the zipper shortened? You can probably take the seams out of the bottom portion, twist and sew part of each zipper end behind the fabric at a 90 degree angle, and then cut off the extra. That way the zipper pull wouldn't fall off the end. They may not want to stay zipped, though.
