A post about posting.

I have quite a few ideas about some posts I could write, but there's really not enough for an entire post.  So, what about a post about my post ideas?  Witty, I know.

Topic #1:  I am sick to death of cats.  I want them all dead.  I love them, and the kittens are adorable.  Thinking about giving them away, and separating them from each other, makes me want to get drunk and shove them all in my pockets.  But I hate them.  The smell of the litter box is making me angry.  But I love them.  And I want to kill them.

Topic #2:   My family.  OH.  MY.  GOD.  Marissa is in SoCal right now visiting, and she's acting more mature than both of my parents.  For those of you that have followed me long enough to know all this drama, I know what you're thinking.  "What, again?  For CRYING OUT LOUD."  I'm right there with you.  High five.  Send me booze.

Topic #3:  There's is something seriously wrong with Charlie.  More specifically, there is something wrong with her butt.  She refuses to poop on the potty now.  This late in the game, she's decided she's going to have a strategy: withhold the poo.  We put diapers on her, no poo.  We let her run naked and free, no poo.  I mean, no pressure, kid, poop on the floor for all I care, just PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, TAKE A DUMP.

Topic #4:   There is some serious debate about the ownership of the empty lot next to our house.  The general neighborhood consensus is that it belongs to this house.  So, it's ours.  The land surveyor says no, but the land behind our house?  The land with someone else's house on it?  He says that land is ours.  So, I'm thinking I'm just going to steal me some land, real sneaky-like.  I'm thinking about clearing a little 2-foot plot of the lot next to us, and planting a garden.  I think it's a little late for planting, but I'm going to ask my Grandpa and see what he says.  And then I'm going build a planter box, and plunk it on that land.  I'm rebellious like that.

Topic #5:  I've recently come to discover that I subconsciously part my hair, Marissa's hair, Phoebe's hair, and Charlie's hair on the left.  I don't know why.  I didn't realize I did this to all of us until a few days ago.  I'm not OCD about it, or anything.  I mean, when Bryan parts their hair on the right side of their heads, I don't freak out.  I just fix it.  Because parting it on the right is against the nature of the universe.

Topic #6:  I'm growing sweet basil in my kitchen window.  It smells wonderful.  And it's growing nicely.  It makes my kitchen look herb-y and kitchen-y.  However.  I have no effing clue how to use it.  Is it something you add to meat?  Sauce?  Noodles?  Tacos?  Do you dry it?  Do you brew it?  Do you roll it up and smoke it?  I feel a Google search coming on.  And yes, I am the type of person to grow an herb in my kitchen window for which I have no use, whatsoever.

Topic #7:  I usually use very cheap razors -- the kind where they come in a bag, like 100 for $2 or something.  Recently,  I made the switch to the Venus something or other.  All I know is, for that price I could've been swimming in razors.  But this thing is magic.  We're talking major de-forestation, with not a single mishap.  Not one.  Seriously, I think that's a record.

And there you have it.

Mmmmm! Basil! What *can't* you use it for? You can use it to make pesto if you have enough, or add it to pasta sauce (near the end of or after cooking for fresh stuff). I knew someone who liked it so much she used it like lettuce on sandwiches!

Fresh basil is great for making bruschetta, hope I spelled that right. Take some tomatoes, dice them up, pick some fresh basil leaves off of your plant and chop them up, toss them in with the tomatoes, add some garlic, fresh or from the jar, then drizzle with a little bit of olive oil and let it sit in the fridge for thirty minutes to an hour so the flavors can mingle and get to know each other. Then toast some nice crusty bread and scoop up the bruschetta on the bread, best dinner ever. We ate this so much last summer that we were glad to see the basil plant fade and the tomato plants stop producing.

Ah, that is awesome -- thanks you guys! :) The bruschetta sounds delicious -- I can't wait to try it.

I second the bruschetta. That and mozzarella and basil sandwiches. With the good mozzarella. Google for a recipe. I've just gotten them at deli's. I liked this post about posting. It covered a lot of different stuff :o)

I totally almost solved ALL of these issues, there's only one problem. I googled, and basil does not kill cats, nor have a laxative effect on Charlie. We can still use that side lot to bury the cats though.
