Procrastination is my middle name.

The girl for whom I'm knitting the baby sweater is having a baby shower.  Tomorrow.  Guess what's awesome?  I STILL haven't finished the sweater.  Say it with me now, "Oh, SHIT!"  Yup, I suck balls, so I'll be staying up late tonight to get it finished.

In the meantime, we made garden stones with the girls' handprints, instead.  My mom had bought these (overpriced) kits, and you know me.  I thought, "I could do that my damn self!"  Instead of doing it the expensive, hoighty-toighty way, I did it the cheap-ass Daphne Blue way.  Mortar mix, $13 (for a huge ass bag); plastic container (the kind you put under houseplants to catch water), $1; two bags of blue stones for decoration, $3.  Result:

Marissab

Phoebeb

All the supplies I bought cost less than one kit, and I have a ton of mortar mix left still.  We're going to do Charlie's hand and foot prints, and then Bryan and I will each do a stone, too.  I can't decide if we should put them in the front yard, the back yard, or perhaps hurl them at passersby if they look like they deserve it.

Since I'm on this freaky plant kick, I decided to make myself a rooter vase.  I ain't not spending no $20 damn dollars one on.  I will, however, spend 99 cents to buy a bud vase, and twist wire around it and hang it with some hemp string, and call myself a damn genius.  I made another one with blue stones glued to it so my crazybitch mom can have one for mother's day.

You really don't need to mention the dead tree in the background, or my dirty yard.  Craftiness is not synonomous with cleanliness.

On a totally unrelated note, this post has absolutely no comments whatsoever.  I'm shocked that no one finds lawn maintenance and paint interesting.  Just shocked, I say!

I so need to do the handprint thing with the girls. Lily is just such a girl and hates to get dirty, so I don't know how'd it go over with the princess of clean. And Anya would probably try to eat the cement... now that sounds like a good time!

The vases are cool, yo. Your mom will be so proud.

Now stop typing and get knitting, girl!

We have one of those (giant dead tree in a pot), we hide it in the "sun room" otherwise known as the room that houses all that is crap. I have a friend who makes those vases and she usues armature wire. You can make really neat spirals and such, very cute. Good luck with the baby sweater!

The garden stones turned out really nice. I love the blue glass you put in there, it adds a really nice touch. Also, the vase looks great. Now finish the damn sweater!!

Oh yeah and can I get a cosmic tap into your freakin creativity? Seriously. You're amazing. If we ever get together we could trade some yoga classes for some art classes, LOL
