I promise I'm not dead.  Yet.

My friend asked me the other day if gets easier with kid #3.  I laughed hysterically, then started crying, then I spit in his face.  Or something.

Truth be told, it IS actually easier this time around.  Breastfeeding is easier (I only had pain for about 4 days), diapering is easier (although we're doing laundry like fiends right now trying to get a system going) and Marissa and Phoebe are as accepting of Charlotte's presence as if she's always been here.

It's the lack of sleep that's getting to me.  Charlotte is nocturnal, so I don't get much sleep at night, and during the day I'm trying to get all sorts of projects done that I've been putting off.  Like making presents for Solstice/Christmas (I'll post pics later... wait 'till you see the shirts I made for Charlotte!  They kick major ASS!).

Anyway, I miss you all, and I'm sorry I haven't been commenting or posting much lately.  Bryan has finals this week, so maybe I'll get some more computer time soon.  Oh, and I'll post some pics of the wee one, too.

XOXO

Like, wow, man.

Okay, so I sent Bryan off to have coffee with a friend, Charlotte's sleeping, and the girls are watching Bambi, so I have a few minutes to post.

For brevity's sake, I'm going to try and pare down the birth story, otherwise this post would end up being pages and pages and pages long.  And, frankly, I find that I have less time these days to be on the computer than I would like.

We're home, and everyone's doing well.  I will update later with a birth story, etc. Big hugs and smoochy kisses to everyone in internet land!

Joke's on me!

I'm never having this kid.  I swear I must have the poshest womb in the UNIVERSE, because the babies just want to stay put.  Bryan says I must have an "abnormally long gestation period for a human."  Read:  you're an alien freak and you'd better keep that demon child in you as long as possible so I can skedaddle before it gets here.

*sigh*

Good news is, though, that I won the bet.  IN YO FACE, MOMMA!  I made turkey, stuffing, cornbread, rolls, green bean casserole, two (TWO) cheesecakes, chocolate chip banana bread, mashed potatoes, and german potato salad.  We also had a pre-cooked ham, and two store-bought pies.  Guess how much food got eaten?  Not very much.  Mom and dad were our only guests, and because of my dad's new BP meds he wasn't very hungry.  The other thing that sucks?  There's hardly any room in my stomach anymore, so *I* can't even gorge myself on the leftovers.  Dammit.

Yesterday was actually a very very awesome day.  Bryan was a tremendous help in the kitchen and around the house, Phoebe napped dutifully while the brunt of the preparation was going on in the kitchen, and my mom and dad were in excellent spirits.  The only thing missing was Marissa, and we have so many leftovers that having a "second" Thanksgiving is entirely possible.

Speaking of leftovers, I gotta run.  I hear a cheesecake calling to me.....
