Visit

One of my mostest favoritest people came to see us.  The visit was excellent, but much too short.  I think she needs to come back.  Yesterday.

My daughter, the genius.

Marissa wrote some poems the other day, and I just about DIED they were so awesome.  Here's my favorite:

Autumn Treasure
There is an autumn
treasure from north to
south and east to west
and me myself will
tell you what it is
it is the scenic beauty of the red,
brown and yellow leaves as
they gently glide through
the breeze
You can taste the breeze and
smell the delicious pumpkin pie

This kid?  She is magnificent.

Pay it forward

I commented on Dotty's post to do the Pay it Forward exchange -- here's the scoop:
I will send a handmade gift to the first 3 people who leave a comment on my blog requesting to join this Pay It Forward exchange. I don’t know what that gift will be yet and you may not receive it tomorrow or next week, but you will receive it within 365 days, that is my promise! The only thing you have to do in return is pay it forward by making the same promise on your blog.

If you want in leave me a comment, and then run along and post on your site.

Sometimes, I actually get stuff done.

Let me start off by saying I totally want to kiss each and every person who left a comment on my last post on the mouth.  First, because you are all brilliant.  Second of all, because after reading the comments, I wasn't worried or stressed about the door anymore -- I was EXCITED and INSPIRED and wanting to KISS YOU ALL ON THE MOUTH.

I did two things: I bought a magnetic curtain rod, and made curtains for the front door.  It's very swanky.  Also, a magentic curtain rod is genius and magical (I had no idea my front door was metal, so now I want to put all kinds of letter magnets on the front door that say things like "go away" and "bite me" and "jesus doth forsaketh all ye who entereth here" and stuff like that).  No holes!  Easy curtains!  Check it out!

Also, I used the marble idea on one of the random doors in our house.  It was originally an outside door, and then they added on a little mud-room type thing, so it's now an inside door.  I could take it or leave it, so I figured if I effed it up by glueing crap to it it wouldn't be a big deal.  Check it out also!

I'm still planning on grouting it.  Did you know grout comes in colors?  Like hemp, and beige, and eggshell?  Did you?  Well, it does.  The grout aisle at Lowe's literally scared the shit out of me, but I think everything will be okay in the end.

Still working on the kitty -- I'm about 90% done.  I just have to do the tail.  I'm so excited.  It's so effing cute.  No, really.  It is.

Also, I got my invitation to Ravelry the other day, and HOLY CRAP!  That place is like a black hole of yarn and awesomeness.  Every time I log in and think, "Okay, just 5 minutes, I'm just going to check out a few things real quick" it always sucks me in.  So, five minutes turns into half an hour.  But that place is awesome!  Seriously!  I could not show any more enthusiasm than I already am with my excessive use of exclamation points!  If you knit/crochet and haven't joined yet, you should. (!)

Oh!  And!  I got both Charlie and Phoebe's costumes done.  I'll post some pictures one of these days.  I still have to do Marissa's, which is going to be the hardest, but I'm totally pumped up that I'm 66% done with this.  Wahoo!

Note to self: don't blog when you've had three cups of coffee in a row.

Hollah!
